GraphiteOne - Download page GraphiteOne is a feature rich modular 3D CAD system designed for but not limited to mechanical construction. It is available for the © Linux operating System. Linux is recognized as one of the operating systems with the fastest growing user base. It proves its reliability daily as the premium solution for many server installations and it is gaining popularity on the users desktop, too. Its stability, reliability, and scalability make it a perfect plattform for the GraphiteOne CAD systems. Build on industrial strenght components, GraphiteOne delivers powerfull 3D CAD services to manufacturing companies. By poviding a open interface, it allows third party vendors to propose specialized applications to meet even the most specific customer needs. This makes GraphiteOne the solution of choice for users who want to integrate a CAD system into their existing software and manufacturing processes.
Functional Areas
Core Modeling
GraphiteOne
provides a rich set of functions to create3D solid parts. This includes
among others basic shapes and mechanical features like fillets,
chamfers, offsets, or hollow. With feature-based CAD modeling,
designers can more quickly create solid models by starting with a base
shape and applying common mechanical product features like holes,
bosses, cutouts, and fillets. The feature-based approach automatically
performs the detailed geometric operations to model the component,
based on the designer's selection of feature parameter values.
High Level Features
In
addition to basic shapes and features, GraphiteOne provides process
specific high level features to increase productivity. High level
features allow to design a 3D model faster by representing industrial
workflows and functions like drills, milling, or webnets.
Surface & Sheet Modeling
GraphiteOnes
fully integrated surface modeling functions allow the creation of
complex and demanding 3D models, either based on existing solid models
or based on standalone surfaces. There are a wide range of powerful
surface construction methods like basic, ruled, swept, fillet, chamfer
or profile based surfaces. Swept surfaces can be defined by guide
curves, giving designer high control of the shape of the resulting
surface. When attaching blends, the radius definition of fillet
surfaces is highly flexible. Options available include variable radius,
two sided radius definition, conic or curvature continuous fillet
surface generation or tangential hold line definition.
Hybrid 2D/3D
With
increasing complexity of product development, 3D CAD usage is
continuously increasing. On the other side, 2D can be a helpful and
efficient method for some parts of a development process. GraphiteOne
fully supports a combined 2D/3D development process by integrating
both, efficient 2D and 3D in a single product. Designer can reuse
existing 2D drawings or start new 2D drawings. In both cases, it is
possible to use 2D data at any point in the development cycle to change
to 3D. GraphiteOne not only allow 3D model to be based on 2D drawings,
the 3D model is also updated when changing 2D data. Also possible is
the other way around, to let GraphiteOne create a 2D drawing based on a
3D model. Detail views or section views can be added to a generated
drawing with only a few mouse clicks.
Constraint based Sketching and Assembly
You
can add dimensions and constraints to sketches and parts of a assembly.
GraphiteOne solves in 3D space dimensions and constraint schemes for
the purpose of positioning parts and controlling the shape of sketches.
When adding dimensions and constraints to sketches, you are not limited
to 2D. GraphiteOne allows fully constraint 3D sketches to be created.
GraphiteOne offers a range of methods that enable you to choose how
geometry should behave when interactively dragging geometry. Different
solving modes influence which geometry should move and how they move.
When desired, GraphiteOne can automatically add appropriate dimensions
and constraints to newly created geometry, depending on the way the
geometry is created.
Open Component Architecture
GraphiteOnes
unique Open Component Architecture provides customers with interfaces
that allow GraphiteOne to be highly customized and extended. Utilizing
this functionality, GraphiteOne can be integrated in virtually any
existing IT infrastructure to work together with existing workflow
management systems, product lifecycle systems or database systems. This
flexibility does not tie you the a single software or software vendor
leaving you the choice for your IT infrastructure.
Interoperability
GraphiteOnes
provides a range of file formats for the import and export of existing
CAD data. This includes formats like DXF, STEP, IGES, and most notably
the Parasolid XT format.
