Heavy Set - Free woodworking plan

Download this plan in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format with high resolution pictures - Pages 15; 5,76Mb

You can use various types of wood for making this project. We recommend some wood with a nice, interesting texture like ash, beech, cedar, birch, cherry, maple, oak, walnut, etc. If you are planning to paint Heavy Complet, the texture of wood is not important.

Make all the items precisely by the measurements given on particular 2D drawings. The measurements are given in millimeters, and the measurements in inches are given in brakes (1 inch = 25, 4 mm).

 3. And before the final assemblage, you will just have to drill holes on the Legs (item 3). Push the Leg in the mortise that you made on the Seat Out (item 5), and then mark and drill the hole (diameter D20mm) on  the Leg.

Repeat this procedure of marking and drilling the holes on each Leg (item 3).

4. And now the final step of this project. Before this step, you should check have you drill all the holes properly, does the mortises matches, and above all, is it possible to put this project together, because when you apply the glue on items, you will have to work quickly, so it would not dry out before you finished with the assemblage of all the items. Join the two Seats In (item 6) and one Seat Out (item 5) and fasten it with the clamp.

Put some glue on the Legs (items 3) and place them in the Seat Out (item 5).

Put some glue into the holes on the subassembly from the previous step and tamp down the Axles (items 4) by using hammer.

 5. Attach the Legs (item 3) to the Seat Out (item 5) with glue.

  6.   Attach the subassembly made in the previous step to the subassembly made in step 4 with glue. Fasten it with the clamp, until the glue dries out.

Form the subassembly TABLE by the same procedure.

You can make as much subassemblies TABLE and CHAIR as you like.
