Spinning Wheel Plan

       Do you remember the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale? While learning to spin the wool, the beautiful princess pricked her finger on the spindle – the top part of a spinning wheel – and fell asleep. This detail from an old story is telling about importance of a spinning wheel in people’s everyday life, since even in the palace had to be one spinning wheel. In those pre-industrial times, this way people made their own woolen threads for the clothes and technique of manufacture was so simple, that a child could learn to do it.     
      Nowadays, the Spinning Wheel still has its purpose, but as one of the most unusual decorations with fragrance of good old times.

     Our Spinning Wheel project is replica of one very old original item. So, if you decide to make it, aside from having a beautiful decoration, you will have a fully functional tool for the wool spinning. This replica represents one of the most frequent versions of the item, but its appearance was varied and changed through the ages and from town to town…
