Heraldic 3D elements

Heraldry is an auxiliary science of history that studies coats of arms. Experts who deal with heraldry are called heraldists. Heraldry originated in the Middle Ages, for practical reasons. At that time knights wore armor and it was very difficult to recognize each other. Therefore, they began wearing insignia (coat of arms) of rulers to whom they were subordinate.

Over time a large number of different coats of arms occurred, which caused the emergence of heraldry. The use of coats of arms has widely spread in recent history, so that today every town has its own coat of arms, as well as a large number of more or less historically significant families.

There are numerous motifs that are put on the coats of arms, and in this category you can download a variety of 3D models that have been created on the basis of heraldic motifs.

Depending on their use (shields, architecture...), the coats of arms may be in a 2D or 3D shape. For this reason we have two categories dealing with heraldry on our website. In this category you can find heraldic 3D models and in category Heraldic 2D design elements you can find 2D drawings of coats of arms or various heraldic design elements.

All Heraldic 3D elements are created in Rhinoceros 3D CAD software.

3D CAD file types included: NURBS (stp, iges, 3dm...)  and/or polygonal mesh (obj, blend, stl...).
