On this page you can download a bas-relief (3D model) made on the basis of an old Japanese bird stencil illustration.

As you see in the picture, since this is a stencil illustration, it consists of closed 2D curves. In order to draw a 3D model based on illustration, you need to import it into 3D software, draw 2D curves and add the 3rd dimension. In this way, you will obtain this 3D model of a bird in flight. The 3D model is well-drawn, and it is up to you to import it into your project, scale it to the desired dimensions and place it in its position. With this 3D model, you can make beautiful wood decoration on a CNC engraving machine.

3D CAD software used for modeling

Rhino 3D + T-splines (Trial version)

Available NURBS and BREP file formats

.stp (Standardized 3D graphic exchange file format) - Solid 3D model

Available polygonal mesh file formats

.obj and .stl ( "stereolithography" - Standard Triangle Language)

Geometry:

OBJ - Mesh - Quads only; Vertices:5994; Edges: 10986; Faces: 10120; Mesh topology supports multiple subdivisions; 3D model without texture and materials

STL - Mesh - only triangles; Vertices:64178; Edges: 192126; Faces: 128084; Mesh does not have any degenerate faces, non manifold edges, naked edges, duplicate faces...

Although this 3D model is made on the basis of an old Japanese stencil, it is still a very beautiful and modern stencil. According to the appearance of the bird, we would say that it is a sparrow, but since the 3D model is not colored, this bas-relief can refer to numerous bird species that are similar to the sparrow.
