On this page you can download four simple 3D models called ‘Round radiate 3D decorations’.

These are 4 simple 3D models that were created on the basis of the two similar 2D patterns, and the difference between them lies in the shape of the 3D surface, i.e., the guide curves and cross section curves of the pointed parts – arms. If you take a look at the picture, the decorations consist of a sphere in the middle with 8 radiating  3D surfaces.

Drawing 3d models like this is easy:

  1. Draw half of the sphere in the middle;
  2. Draw half of the arm contour (bottom guide curves);
  3. Put a few curves that should represent the cross sections of the arm;
  4. Form half of the 3D arm surface using Sweep command and create a full arm using Mirror command;
  5. Use Pattern (or Array in some 3D CAD software) command to rotate the arm as many times as desired;
  6. Trim the arms and sphere and delete unnecessary surpluses obtained after trimming.
