Here you can download  Fibonacci number 2D patterns. All three of them are examples of integration of mathematics and nature.

A large variety of phenomena in nature (branching in trees,  arrangement of leaves on a stem, the arrangement of a pine cone...) can be determined through the Fibonacci numbers - Fibonacci sequence (’Nature’s numbering system’) or through the related Fibonacci spiral. Amongst the phenomena that can be defined is the way the leaves grow in some plants. If you take a top view of succulents (Aloe polyphylla, Sempervivum arachnoideum…), for example, you will see that the pattern formed by the arrangement of the leaves is similar to the patterns that you can download on this page.

All the Fibonacci number patterns are available in universal vector (.eps and .svg) file formats, as well as in .dwg file format which is the most commonly used 2D CAD file format.

There is a large number of quality articles in books and on the Internet where you can find more information on the Fibonacci numbers and various phenomena in nature (especially biology), which are determined by this famous mathematical sequence. The biography of the 13th century Italian mathematician Leonardo Bonacci, also known as Fibonacci and Leonardo of Pisa (known as Fibonacci), is very interesting to read, too!

These Fibonacci number patterns are made in Rhinoceros 3D CAD software, using its plug-in Grasshopper.

We hope you will let us know when you have used this 2D mathematical patterns and send us pictures of your work.
