Weather vane is an architectural decorative element that is placed on top of buildings. Except for its generally decorative role, it is also functional as it indicates wind direction. Its structure consists of two sub-assemblies: The first consists of a fixed tube attached to the roof, with welded pointers of cardinal directions; the second is another tube that can be rotated within the fixed tube, with a weather vane silhouette mounted on it. The weather vane silhouette is both decorative and functional, as it is designed to swing easily and point to the direction from which the wind is blowing. This is achieved by having a balanced mass of equal weight, but with an unequal area for catching the wind.
