Here you can download a vectorized illustration of a boy fishing. This is a stencil illustration and consists of closed curves only.

It comes from an old book, and judging by the way the illustration was drawn, we can conclude that it was printed using the woodcut technique. Woodcut technique or xylography is one of the oldest reproductive techniques which originated in antiquity. It is a relief printing technique in which prints are made on paper or some other material by pressing a wooden stencil. The woodcut is performed on a flat wooden board/block on which the drawing is applied and then all the places not covered by the drawing are hollowed out, i.e. a relief of the drawing is made. Next, the process is classic for printing, the relief is coated with paint and the stencil is pressed on paper to transfer the relief to it.

As for the illustration itself, it comes from a children's book where it served as a decoration, and we drew it because it exudes a calmness of childhood that fewer and fewer children are experiencing  these days. Illustrations of children like this are always preferable for the preparation of various materials intended for children and adults, too. This illustration can be used in children's books, picture books, posters, as a motif on the wardrobe or a picture on the wall... There are countless possibilities, indeed.
