A shaving horse is a traditional woodworking tool used to hold a piece of wood in place while it is worked by a cutting tool such as a drawknife or spokeshave. They generally consist of a long bench that the woodworker sits on, while a pedal-operated clamp locks the workpiece into place. This allows the worker to use both hands.

In the past times, when people were manufacturing almost all the things for their household by themselves, (instead of buying them like today), the Shaving horse was one of the irreplaceable home tools. In the present days, this tool can be use as a nice decoration, but you will also get fully functional carving tool, because this project is a copy of the original Shaving horse (Carving Bench) that was made about hundred years ago.

NOTE: The measurements within this text and 2D documentation are given both in millimeters and inches (in brackets). I apologize to the people who use other measurement units; but I believe that measurements given in millimeters and inches should be adequate for everyone who would like to build this project.
