On this page you can download a simple frame vector that we named the Sign border vector.

We have found it in an old book 'Henderson's sign painter' (Author: John Ohnimus, published 1906). Based on the layout and publication date of the book it originated from, it can be assumed that this is an Art Nouveau sign border. The book is dedicated to sign design, and this is one of the examples of the sign borders you can find in it. As you can see in the picture, it is a rectangular frame pattern that can serve both as a border and a sign.

Inside the border there is a large blank space that you can fill up with a picture, text… The sign border consists of stylized leaves and an interlaced pattern located in the central lower part. Using interlaced patterns of this type is not characteristic of Art Nouveau patterns, but not all is about the drawing style as the artist is always entitled to add some of their own details. The design of this sign pattern is perfect for photo frames and various graphic needs, and if you are into woodworking – why don’t you make an interesting frame to suit your desired dimensions!?

We hope you like this sign frame border because, even though it is over 100 years old, it still looks modern today and has usable value. The border is given in simple black and white, but we believe that you will, unlike us, pay attention to coloring and create a very nice sign design from this sign pattern.
