If you like mathematical art, on this page you can download two free 3D models called ‘math art polyhedron structures’.

Unfortunately, we haven’t saved the data to be able to tell you which polyhedrons were used to create both 3D models. Hopefully, this will not affect your decision to download and use them somewhere. Both 3D models are very easy to create if you already have a 3D polyhedron modeled. The red 3D model was created by deleting specific faces, and the green one by converting the polyhedron to the so-called. ‘wireframe 3D model’.

Math art polyhedron structures
3D CAD software used for modeling

- Topmod for modeling

- Rhino 3D and T-splines plug-in for conversion to NURBS 3D surfaces

Available NURBS and BREP file formats

Surface 3D model - .igs (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification)

Available polygonal mesh file formats

.obj

Geometry: Mesh - Mesh topology supports multiple subdivisions; 3D models without texture and materials

If we apply subdivision to 3D models made like this, we obtain bodies as seen in the picture. Generally, complex and very interesting 3D shapes can be obtained in a very easy way!
