This is a realistic 3D model of a wooden lathe-turned stair baluster.

A picture found in an old catalog of a company that produced wooden stair balusters has served as an inspiration. You can use it as a stair baluster in your 3D projects, or you can make it on a lathe. If you decide to make balusters for your staircase or railing, it is important to use high quality wood in wood furniture class. If, however,  you are planning to install them outdoors, it is necessary to choose such a wood type that is meant to endure external conditions well (humidity, rain, temperature fluctuations, etc.). It is also important to do a thorough sanding and purpose-adjusted finishing - if the balusters are installed indoors, it is necessary to varnish them in accordance with the staircase, and if they are installed outdoors, a finishing must be used to provide efficient protection against external influences.
