Here you can download a typical example of a work created with the help of parametric modeling, which we descriptively called “Parallel line drawing portraits of Franz Kafka ”.

We formed this work by importing a photo of a black and white (grayscale also possible) portrait of Franz Kafka into 3D CAD software and based on it, using an algorithm, we generated parallel lines whose thickness varied depending on the amount of black color//paint? in the imported photo. In the past, such works were done with a pen because, depending on the pressure of the pen on the paper, a thicker or thinner line was obtained, and of course it took a lot of skill to draw such artwork by hand. Today, it is very easy to do such things with the help of a computer. After we selected a few photos of Franz Kafka, we generated several such works using an algorithm and made them available to you here. When you import our files into 2D CAD or vector software, you will see that these parallel line drawing portraits consist of curves only. All the portraits are painted in black and white, but if you have some ideas, you can paint them as you see fit.

By the way, we decided to represent Franz Kafka in these halftone line art portraits because he was one of the greatest and most influential writers of the 20th century. Franz Kafka (1883-1924) was a Jew, who was born in Bohemia, Czech Republic, and who wrote in German. His style of writing belonged to the Avant-Garde, a movement from the mid-phase modernism.

Kafka wrote a lot during his life, but he used to burn his manuscripts, which he was never satisfied with. Only some of his works have been preserved, which were taken over by his best friend Max Brod who published them after Kafka's death. During his lifetime, Kafka’s works were appreciated only in narrow literary circles. Kafka might never have been known in the world, nor would he ever have been talked about, had it not been for his friend Max Brod. If we consider the quality of the works that Max Brod had preserved, we simply have to wonder what other masterpieces Kafka must have destroyed in the fire forever, with no one who had ever been given a chance to read them.
Kafka's three novels - "The Trial", "The Castle" and "America" were published in the period from 1925 to 1927, and four years later (1931) his collection of short stories "The Great Wall of China" was published.

According to everything he wrote, Kafka’s life was not easy, and we recommend that you read his works if you haven’t already. He was a tortured artist, who lived a life full of psychological distress, diseases and various problems, but all that together did not suppress his extraordinary creative talent, on the contrary!
