Here we have put at your disposal a simple 3D model that we named Celtic repeating 3D pattern.

This 3D model has been inspired by a picture from an old book. The writing under the picture said that it was a Celtic repeating pattern, but further investigation of a variety of sources proved that in the course of history the same repeating pattern had been used by other peoples as well.

3D model category
3D CAD software used for modeling

Rhino 3D

Available NURBS and BREP file formats

Solid 3D model - .stp  (standardized 3D graphic exchange file format)

Surface 3D model - .3dm (Rhinoceros 3D CAD software native file format)

Within the 3D file there is only a segment of the repeating pattern. By simply scaling and copying the 3D segment it is possible to create a pattern of any size.

The basis for the drawing of this 3D pattern has been the 2D pattern which you can download here: Celtic repeating geometric pattern

If you do not use Rhino 3D CAD software, please download STEP file format.
