Here you can see and download two simple 3D models, which we have descriptively called ‘round radial 3D decorative elements’.

They were drawn in Rhinoceros 3D CAD software, and the first model in the picture was based on the second one. As you can see, the second 3D model consists of a sphere in the center and radial twisted surfaces that are easy to draw using the Sweep command. If you make a mirror version of this 3D model and move it to the same place where the initial 3D model stands, you will get two 3D models one over the other that look like the first 3D model in our picture. Of course, to get the first 3D model, it is necessary to trim the surfaces of these two 3D models and delete unnecessary surfaces created after trimming. As you can see, the modeling process is simple and you get a very interesting 3D surface.

If you can, use these 3D models to create something with them; you can also try modeling these 3D models in the 3D CAD software that you use. Using the modeling method described above, you can model a large number of similar 3D models in 3D CAD software, because their appearance depends only on the number and shape of the radial surfaces. You may vary the number of radial surfaces, their cross-section, the curvature, i.e., the twist...
