If you need a 3D model of a medieval ornament, here you can download one that has been drawn based on a picture of a Byzantine ornament.

This is just the 3D model of the ornament that looks like the one in the picture; however, if you combine it with the base, you can easily obtain a relief. The 3D model can be used in 3D graphics software for some of your needs, you can make a relief out of it, as already said, or make a casting or injection mold.  All in all, the 3D model can be used in various ways. The ornament is almost a thousand years old and can certainly be useful if you want to breathe some medieval or Byzantine vibe in your project.

On the ‘Byzantine Ornament’ page please find the 2D pattern used to draw this 3D model in Rhinoceros software. The 3D model consists of horizontal and vertical surfaces only, so you can also make it with 2.5 axis milling machines. It may not be too fancy, but we are positive that this Byzantine ornament 3D model will be the right choice for many different projects. And here is some extra information on the (sad) history of the ornament that we are dealing with: during the Fourth Crusade and the pillage of Constantinople, Venice stole it from Byzantium and proudly exhibited it on the façade of St Mark's Basilica in Venice (which, hm, leads us to think that there have always been people who are not ashamed to steal but are even proud of it!).
