With these patterns you can make decorative coasters from wood with scroll saw technique.

To create them, you will need wood pieces with dimensions (95mm x 95mm x 3mm (3 ¾' x 3 ¾' x 1/8')) from which patterns need to be cut in scroll saw technique. We believe these to be the optimal dimensions considering the purpose, but you can modify the size according to specific needs, of course. Both square and circular scroll saw patterns are suitable to make the wooden coasters, the only important thing is that they do not have too small details because they are difficult to cut. On this page you can find 16 examples of cutting patterns, but if you want something different, a large range of patterns can be found in our free patterns category.

Coasters (beverage coasters) are used when serving drinks, to rest mugs and glasses upon and their role is to protect the table surface and absorb condensation dripping along the outer side of the them. Today coasters are mainly used in pubs where they are made of cardboard and except for their role to protect the table surface, they also absorb beer pouring down the mugs. Since our coasters are made of wood, they will not absorb any liquid; their role is to protect the table surface and tablecloth from getting stained and to give a decorative touch-up.

We hope you will let us know when you have used these scroll saw patterns and send us pictures of your work.
