The patterns that you can download here originate from Pompeii and Ancient Rome. A classic example of a tessellation pattern.

The Ancient Romans used them for tiling the sidewalks. These pavement diaper patterns have an interesting 3D effect - if you make a proper contrast in color, the impression is achieved of walking on the corners of the cubes that are embedded in the sidewalk. Similar diaper patterns can be found in Chinese and Japanese cultures.

As with all of our free patterns, these pavement patterns can also be downloaded as a 2D CAD sketch in .dwg format or as a vector illustration in .svg and .eps file formats.

The pattern have been drawn very precisely in a 2D CAD software using a grid and all geometric elements of patterns are lines.
