The design was found in an old printing specimen catalogue and it was meant for decorating of books, magazines, advertisements, etc.

It resembles the classic motif found on the pirate flag and consists of a human skull above two crossed thighbones. Since the files can be edited and modified in any 2D CAD or vector software, you can easily delete the crossbones to get a simple skull illustration.
