This is a collection of 5 Moorish ornaments that we have divided into two groups.
The first group contains two ornaments from the book “Suggestions in Design”, published in 1881, while the second group contains three ornaments from the book “Public Industrial Art School”‚ published in 1891. We cannot say with certainty that the second group deals with Moorish ornaments, as this was not mentioned in the book. The ornament in the middle of the second group does not look very Moorish, but we gave the group its name based on the other two ornaments that have a strong resemblance to Moorish ornaments. As for the ornaments in the first group, we can safely claim them to be Moorish since that was clearly stated in the book. For the first ornament was stated: outline center ornament of foliated and interlacing form. For the second ornament it was stated: centre ornament for panel in low relief, and color, interlacing foliated forms.
