The three ornaments that you can download here belong to interlaced ornaments and Moorish ornament drawing style.

We found them in the book titled “Suggestions in design: being a comprehensive series of original sketches in various styles of ornament, arranged for application in the decorative and constructive arts”, published in 1881. All three ornaments were said to be Moorish ornaments, whereas the first two were described as ‘flowing, angular and interlaced terminals’, and the third one as an ‘interlaced outline ornament’. The ornaments are very interesting and unusual, it is likely that many connoisseurs of Moorish decorative art who see these ornaments for the first time will be astonished to hear that they are Moorish in style.

Since we liked these ornaments so much, we gladly drew them in 2D CAD software, and for the second ornament we even made a 3D model which you can download here: Moorish 3D design

An interesting thing about these ornaments is that, although hundreds of years old, they still look beautiful today, which more than enough speaks in favor of the skills of Moorish artists. Drawing such ornaments is not difficult in modern 2D CAD or vector programs, and we believe that Moorish artists would be interested in using the above software.
