Collection of scroll line borders

We called them scroll line borders or frames because this type of borders is commonly referred to by the same name in books from the early 20th century. They were very popular during the Art Nouveau movement, so we could also call them Art Nouveau borders, which they actually are.

On simple scroll line borders, the border is just slightly adorned in the corners with some decorative shape made of scroll line. Border lines can be further embellished with bold lines, small curves, or serpentines. On complex scroll line borders, the scroll line undulates and changes thickness, various complex decorative elements (usually formed from the scroll line) are used for decoration, which can be placed not only in the corners but also used to interrupt lines in various places.
