Download for free simple geometrical frieze patterns. The patterns are not complicated and can be used in many ways.

Both frieze patterns are among our first drawn 2D patterns on this website. We haven’t been able to trace the origin for the first one, and the second one comes from an old Italian book titled `Disegno geometrico` (Geometrical drawing) – Author: Alessandro Antilli; Published: 1914. The book is of high quality because it contains examples with descriptions on how to draw various geometric patterns.

As always, a 2D CAD (dwg) file format is available, as well as a vector file formats (eps and svg) for those who are into graphic design.

Both frieze patterns consist of circles only and have been drawn by copying a symmetric segment. By drawing half of this segment, copying it across the axis of symmetry, and copying the desired number of times, you can obtain a pattern of any length. Both frieze patterns have been drawn in vector software Inkscape.
