With this plan you can make a multi-purpose kitchen stool, a practical addition to your kitchen.

We call it a kitchen stool, although it can be used for a variety of purposes and placed  in any room other than the kitchen, as well as in the yard, workshop, etc.

Dimensions

Dimensions of the completed stool according to our plan are as follows: 394mm (15 1/2in)  394mm (15 1/2in) x 436mm (17 3/16in).

The construction of this stool is both simple and convenient, and will no doubt give lasting satisfaction in any home.

The stool is made up of 4 legs plus 4 parts (1. Seat block) forming the seat. The parts are connected to each other by means of dowels and glue. The making of this stool can be a very useful exercise for young woodworkers to master the technique of connecting parts using dowels.

Kitchen stool - Parts and assembly drawings, exploded view and parts list

In order to get a unique stool you can:

  • decorate the legs with carvings,
  • round or chamfer the edges on the legs,
  • use different types of wood that have a similar texture but a different color,
  • paint the stool with color(s) of your choice,
  • devise some interesting leg shape.

Dimensions and design can be changed to suit the purpose for which the stool is intended. The Kitchen stool plan contains the drawings of all the parts with necessary dimensions, an assembly drawing and an exploded view (with parts list).
