If you need a nice modern circular design, the one you can download here probably meets these criteria. It is called the round butterfly design.

We found it in the International Studio Magazine (published in 1897); to be more precise, its picture referred to a text called ‘Recent Work in Applied Design’. The text described the work of a newly established school in New York called the School of Applied Design for Women, and in addition to the text, there were several designs done by the students. Among them was this work by Miss S. C. McConnell, the student who was the 1st prize winner at some exhibition in 1910. Below the picture, the work was described as ‘butterfly design’, and the author of the text cited the colors the student used to paint the design and emphasized that it was extremely beautiful; however, the author added that it was difficult to distinguish the butterfly by which the work had been named. We too have noticed the beauty of the design, and we have enjoyed drawing it in 2D CAD software.

By the way, the design is circular in shape, has reflection symmetry and 90-degree rotational symmetry, and is drawn in such a quality that it always looks modern. It consists of unusual intertwined shapes similar to stylized butterfly wings, and it is just a shame that color printing was rare and expensive at that time, so we cannot see the original choice of its colors. We hope that you will find a quality application for this beautiful circular design, its beauty certainly deserves it!

Pay maximum attention to design coloring to get the most out of it!
