The illustration comes from the old German magazine "Die Kunst" where it appeared along with photographs of toys designed by the famous German artist and architect Carl Weidemeyer. The silhouette depicts the well-known pyramid of animals standing one on top of the other (donkey-dog-cat-rooster) based on a scene from the folktale. This animal pyramid is found on the cover of almost all printed editions of the Bremen Town Musicians, and on the western side of the Bremen town hall there is a bronze statue which is its most famous and most photographed representation.
