Free vector design of a Parantica sita butterfly. Parantica sita (or Chestnut Tiger) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family.

The Chestnut Tiger lives in Asia - across the Himalayas to Korea and Japan. This large, colorful butterfly is a relative of the famous Monarch butterfly. Both of the species are migratory.

Chestnut Tigers change their habitat seasonally – in spring they fly from southern overwintering sites to northern mountains rich in larval food. After a new generation of butterflies emerges, they travel back to the south. By the way, butterflies use seasonal winds to cover huge distances, often 1,000 – 2,000 km.
